Our People

Corporate responsibility starts with our people, fostering fair employment practices and ensuring equitable treatment at every level of our organization.

A skilled and motivated team is essential to the success of any organization, and we fully recognize its importance to our business. We encourage every team member to take ownership of their professional growth, and we are committed to providing the tools and resources needed to support their development. To bridge skill gaps and empower our team, we fund a variety of training programs focused on key areas such as health and safety, mining and mine support, exploration, asset protection, and leadership.

We prioritize internal growth, advertising all positions internally first, and aim to promote from within wherever possible. Our goal is to enable employees to progress from entry-level roles to senior positions based on their skills and abilities.

Luhihi Gold Mining is also dedicated to creating direct and sustainable benefits for local communities through training and employment. Over 85% of employees at Luhihi Mining Company Limited and its major contractors are East Africa nationals, with approximately half being permanent residents of nearby villages. This commitment underscores our focus on supporting and uplifting the communities where we operate.

We value the advantages of a diverse team, where varied backgrounds and perspectives enrich our business. As an inclusive employer, we are committed to fostering equality through our Equal Employment Opportunity Policy, which ensures fair treatment regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, or religion.

Fostering Equality and Empowerment in the Workplace

Our commitment to equality encompasses all aspects of employment, including job advertisements, recruitment, compensation, and promotion. This policy applies to every employee at all levels, as we believe it is fundamental to attracting and retaining the best talent.

We are dedicated to identifying and addressing barriers that hinder the advancement and equitable treatment of women in our workplaces. Through our employment practices, supply chain initiatives, training programs, and community investment efforts, we aim to promote the socio-economic empowerment of women in the communities connected to our operations.

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment or behavior that creates an intimidating or offensive work environment, particularly conduct related to gender, race, age, religion, or color. Strict disciplinary actions are enforced against employees who engage in such behavior.

Our approach to labor relations prioritizes building strong, trust-based relationships with our team, grounded in transparency and mutual respect.
